Theory class: representations of youth culture

In my media theory class we have recently been looking into the representation of youth culture in films and looking at what critics have got to say on the issue. So far we have watched Eden Lake and Harry Brown. Both films gave similar representations of youth; being part of the gang culture, and who are usually presented as aggressive, under educated and of a lower class status.

Next we will be watching Attack the block.

Layout Design

For Research into layout designs for my magazine article I have collected various images from a range of articles in order to generate ideas for my own layout. Collecting these images as research has allowed me to judge what I do and don't like about certain article layouts and how I would make them different.

Mood Board

I created this mood board as a way of brainstorming initial ideas for my magazine article. I collected images that might inspire the layout of my article for example different camera designs, colours, sizing, fonts ect.

Hi all

For my A2 coursework I have chosen task 7 which is the original documentary TV programme. Along with that I will also be doing a radio trailer and a double- page spread from a listenings magazine which focuses on the documentary.

First Post

Hey guy's it's Nadine and this is my first post for my new A2 blog. I had a great summer and even volunteered to work as a runner for a feminist short film. I had a great time and it was an insightful experience that I would love to do again. Now that I'm back at school I have to decide on what brief to choose for my A2 coursework. Wish me luck!
